In addition to Supercol’s all-natural food-grade guar gum, we also supply industrial-grade guar gum through our subsidiary company; BGA (Bulk Guar Australia).
Our industrial guar gum is packaged in 25 kg or 50 kg bags as well as in bulk bags that can carry up to 1 metric ton of guar gum. The containers are loaded up to 20 tons and shipped to the port of discharge.
Guar Gum for Mining
BGA Guar Gum is used in the mining industry in the floatation process as flocculant agent for purification.
Guar gum is one of the best thickening additives, emulsifying additives and stabilising additives. BGA industrial grade guar gum for mining ranges from size 100 mesh to 300 mesh. The viscosity range (CPS) is subject to the guar gum size we supply, it ranges from 2000 to 7500.
Guar gum powder is fine in texture and off-white in colour. Guar Gum powder contains thickening property eight times higher than that of the thickening capacity of corn starch.
Guar Gum is processed powder derived from a crop called guar. It is the ground endosperm of the ground guar seeds. Guar is a drought-resistant crop sown in after the monsoon rainfall in the second half of July to early August and harvested in late October to early November. Too much rain makes the plant leafy, reducing the number of pods, or the number of seeds per pod which affects the size and yield of seeds.
Processing: Guar seeds are de-husked, milled and screened to obtain guar gum powder. It is produced as a free flowing, pale, off-white coloured, coarse to fine ground powder.
Guar Gum for Oil & Gas
BGA Guar Gum is used in the Oil & Gas industry as additives in fracturing fluids, as well as fluid loss controlling agent.
Oil Grade BGA Guar gum powder is used in oil well fracturing, oil well stimulation, and mud drilling as a stabiliser, thickener and suspending agent. It is a natural, fast hydrating dispersible guar gum and is diesel slurriable. In the oil fields, BGA Guar Gum is used as a surfactant, synthetic polymer and deformer ideally suited for all rheological requirements of water-based and brine-based drilling fluids. Our high viscosity Guar Gum products are used as drilling aids in oil well drilling, geological drilling and water drilling. Guar gum products reduce friction in the holes and minimise power requirements.
BGA industrial grade guar gum for oil & gas drilling and fracturing is of size 200. The viscosity range is 3 Min – 34-50 CPS @ 0.48% Sol. (2% Kcl).
